Coconut Grove in the centre of Port Douglas, Queensland, was completed by Matrix earlier this year.
The $29-million, 33-unit development was built for the Juniper Development Group. It is spread over five floors, with a mix of two and three-bedroom units, all with private entry courtyards, European-style kitchens and secluded balconies.
The "entertainers' terrace" apartments are enhanced by individual, spacious outdoor party areas, with a plunge pool, spa and barbecue all adding to the tropical atmosphere.
Similarly, the penthouse apartments come complete with all the features of the "entertainers' terrace" but are on a private rooftop.
The street level has 1500 2sq m of retail space allotted for boutiques, bars and restaurants.
The building has a relatively "smart" level of management, allowing for remote control of all services, including a centralised air-cooled condenser bank with chilled water reticulated to the apartments and shops. Central gas-fired hot water will meet the heavy demand for holiday usage of spa baths.
