SOUL TAKES BEACHFRONT LIVING TO A NEW LEVEL

Property developer Juniper Group is focused on creating living spaces at its $850 million Soul Surfers Paradise development that allow residents to feel a connection with the ocean.

The 77-story tower, which will be located on the Raptis Plaza site at Cavill Ave, will comprise almost 300 luxury apartments, including three upper-level whole-floor sub-penthouses.

Juniper Group Marketing Manager David Kortlang said the sub-penthouses on levels 67, 68 and 69 would deliver the ultimate in luxury high-rise living.

“These apartments are the crème de la crème of the Soul building, with an exclusiveness that cannot be matched,” he said.

“The three sub-penthouses, which start from 425sq m in size, each occupy an entire floor directly below the Soul penthouse, meaning residents are guaranteed the space and privacy expected of such a high-profile address.

“Every effort has also been made in the design of the apartments to have spaces that link to the ocean. All sub-penthouses will boast spectacular uninterrupted views of the ocean and design techniques that enhance residents’ connection with the water.”

Mr Kortlang said the highest-quality appliances and finishes had been incorporated into the sub-penthouse designs.

“Towering ceilings feature in all the sub-penthouses, while contemporary lighting highlights the designer fittings,” he said.

“Media rooms, bars, generously proportioned living spaces, extraordinarily large dining areas and wide galleries are features in some or all of the sub-penthouses.

“The kitchens feature high-quality Gaggenau appliances, including a cook top, wall-mounted oven and integrated fridge with icemaker, while each bedroom has 100 per cent wool carpet.”

DBI Design Director of Interior Design Susan Rossi said her firm had incorporated several features into the Soul sub-penthouses to enhance its prime beachfront location.

“Generous planning has allowed us to create a seamless transition from inside the apartments to the outside,” she said.

“We have also used natural and textural materials inside that reflect the coastal environment.

“A sense of luxury in the bathroom designs reflects DBI’s background in hotel design, while there’s also much attention to detail in the design of joinery that crafts the living spaces and expresses the kitchen as a centre for entertainment.

Mr Kortlang said market feedback had inspired Juniper Group and DBI Design to increase the size of the apartments on Soul’s upper levels.

“Top-end buyers are telling us what they want and we are listening,” he said.

“The iconic location of this project was instrumental in the decision to produce a larger number of apartments with larger floor areas.

“The market appreciated the ‘never-to-be-repeated’ location and realised Soul sub-penthouses are a quality investment in lifestyle as well as property.”

As well as the sub-penthouses, Soul will also feature a penthouse over four levels which sold last year to an unnamed Queensland businessman for $16.85 million, setting a new apartment record for Australia.

Ms Rossi said the Soul site was “exceptional” by international standards.

“DBI is proud to be part of this iconic project that will rejuvenate the Cavill Mall precinct. We work on many international projects but this is our home,” she said.

The development, which will rise more than 240m above the world-famous Surfers Paradise beach, is scheduled to commence construction this year with the first stage expected to settle in 2011.

It will also include a $100 million, 5,700sq m retail component in the best beachfront location in one of the country’s premier shopping precincts.
